Footd: That Old LBD

Some weeks ago my ninja boyfie and I celebrated our 4th year together, which called for a date-worthy outfit. Being the frugal female that I am however, shopping for a new outfit never even crossed my mind. Instead, I decided to pull out an old reliable: the LBD.

The LBD or Little Black Dress is a staple in every girl’s closet (if not in her closet, in her sister’s or best friend’s closet for easy borrowing). It’s perfect for date nights and days when you want to look and feel a little fancy without going over-the-top.

This dress is actually pretty old (as you can probably tell because of the bubble hem) but it’s still in pretty good condition and features pleats which are pretty popular right now (though not in this shape).

I actually got the idea of putting this outfit together after seeing this pic of Olivia Palermo in my last FOOTD:

And with a pleated dress in such a great color too! (instyle)

I liked the whole vibe of the pleated dress with the jacket and boots. A bonus to putting this FOOTD together was that I got to style it with my old LBD, which I haven’t worn in ages.

Another way to wear this outfit: tying the jacket around the waist, which I did since it became quite hot and humid outside.

I had fun styling and getting to wear my old LBD, and I hope I get a chance to do so again. If you’ve got an LBD tucked away in your closet, I say pull it out one of these days and have fun with it! And do share how your LBD styling goes, I’d love to know! 😉
