I Wrote a Prequel to Beauty and the Beast, and Here It Is.

Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme.

After watching the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, it was impossible for me not to be moved. I was so moved that, just days after watching the movie and being in a constant state of movie magic nostalgia, an idea for a story suddenly came to me.

Because of the movie I developed a new appreciation for the original characters of the story. But there was one character that boggled me… one that, after watching her in the movie only led me to ask a dozen questions in my mind.

It was because of this character that I began to develop a story, an origin story that leads up to the well-known and beloved tale we now know as Beauty and the Beast.

This is my first time (not counting when I was a kid) to write a short story, so despite the simple fairy tale-style telling I do hope you’ll like it. I’ve captured it in pictures for security purposes (swipers no swiping please), but also because the images can contain more of the words in one post. Do let me know what your thoughts are after reading it, and if you like it feel free to share this post with others!

Disclaimer: No copyright infringement intended. This is a work of fan fiction using characters from Beauty and the Beast that are trademarked by Disney Enterprises, Inc. This story is for entertainment purposes only and is not part of the official story line.

… And that concludes Part 1 of my Beauty and the Beast prequel story! Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3! 😉

  1. I like it! I mean, I loved how well written the chapters were – hahhaa, as well as how Adam came to have his name. Named after a brother so beloved and well thought of. But curiously does this make the enchantress in the story his own mother? Hmmm…very nice twist there! Love it nut! Continue on with this story, I’d definitely love to read more!:)
